Programme Overview

The Medical Laboratory Technology programme provides students with a solid foundation in medical laboratory science. Over the learning period, students develop essential technical skills and an ethical approach to laboratory work, ensuring their effective integration into the medical team.

Programme Objectives

The objective of the programme is to train Medical Laboratory Technicians who are capable of providing diagnostic services in community and Primary Health Care facilities by:

Establishing a comprehensive framework to prepare competent medical laboratory technicians and assistants.
Facilitating coordination between the college and practice areas.
Preparing students for certification and licensing as mandated by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
Training candidates from various communities in line with the college's philosophy of community service.
Offering a career pathway for medical laboratory technicians who wish to pursue higher education.

Entry Requirements

5 credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry or Physics and any other subject at not more than two sittings.
